Tricky Word Mapping Templates - Orthographic Mapping for Heart Words

Are you teaching students how to map heart words or high-frequency words with irregular or tricky spellings? These templates can be used with any high-frequency word list to orthographically map tricky words.

Each template includes:

• Say the word
• Tap the word (words of up to 6 sounds)
• Map the word (write each of the sounds)
• Write the word 3 times and highlight or heart the tricky spelling
• Put the word into a sentence (use in context)
