SPIN IT SPELL IT CVCC CCVC WORDS - No Prep Phonics Activities

Are you teaching students to orthographically map CVCC words and CCVC words and looking for no-prep phonics activities? These Spin and Spell mats can be used to develop early phonemic awareness and phonics skills such as blending and segmenting of CVCC/CCVC words.

These Spin It Spell It mats can be used in a variety of ways to target different skills:

Level 1: Phonemic Awareness

Students spin the word and then map the sounds below, using counters or other manipulatives.

 Level 2: Map/spell the word

Students spin the word and then build it with alphabet manipulatives or write it.

25 mats are included:

• 12 mats sorted by short vowel sound (e.g. short a CVCC words, short o CVCC words)
• 13 mats with mixed CVCC CCVC words (all short vowel sounds)
